SafeSport Certification — U19 Player Guide
Players who are 18 or 19 years old, or who turn 18 during this seasonal year, are required to complete SafeSport certification before they can be certified on a team roster. Please do not wait — incomplete SafeSport will prevent your player from being rostered.
Important: Before starting SafeSport, the player must have their own individual GotSport account with a unique email address. They cannot complete SafeSport under a parent's account.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Parent logs in and opens the player's profile
Log in to GotSport, click the Family tab, and select your player's name.

Add a unique email address for the player
In the player's profile, enter a unique email/UserID for the player. This must match the email the player will use for SafeSport. Click Save before continuing.

Go to the player's Dashboard and find SafeSport
Still in the player's profile, click Dashboard. Under Requirements, find SafeSport and click Details.

Parent signs the acknowledgement
Enter your first name, last name, and signature in the Parent Acknowledgement form and submit.

Player logs in and starts the course
Parent signs out. Player logs in with their own email/UserID. Go to Dashboard — SafeSport should show as Pending. Click Details, then Start Course.

Complete the required course
For players completing SafeSport for the first time, one course is required:
SafeSport Trained — U.S. Soccer Federation (Core training)
If you have completed SafeSport before, you may need a Refresher course instead. Contact us if you're unsure.

Sync your completion back to GotSport
After finishing the course, go back to Dashboard → Details next to SafeSport → click Check Records to auto-sync. If that doesn't work, enter your completion code manually or upload your certificate PDF using the SafeSport Upload Form.
